Just outside of Panama City begins a string of unspoiled pacific beaches that stretches all the way to the border of Costa Rica. Starting at the town of Chame, about an hour drive from the city, and continuing along the pacific coast are several beach towns as well as multiple resorts with water activities and some with year-around golfing. Shortly after Chame is the famous town of Coronado which has a well-organized expat community and offers a lot of services such as grocery and home improvement stores, medical clinic, international schools, casinos etc. It also has a good variety of restaurants and café’s. In and around Coronado are many real estate projects to choose from in all price ranges.
Within 15 minutes’ drive from Coronado is the surf village of El Palmar which offers sandy beaches and multiple lodging and restaurant options. Just north of El Palmar are many towns, resorts and real estate projects, including Santa Clara and Farallon.
Further up the coast, about a 4 hour drive from Panama City, are the famous surf villages of Playa Venao and Santa Catalina. Both with beautiful beaches, relaxed atmosphere and multiple options in lodging, activities and entertainment. Further west, closer to Costa Rica, are many beaches and nearby islands, perfect for snorkeling and fishing. To mention a few, Boca Chica, Playa Las Lajas, La Barqueta and Burica.
