Just a short drive from Panama City lies the historic town of Portobelo with the blue waters of the Caribbean Ocean nearby which has many options for water activities including scuba diving and snorkeling. Close to Portobelo is the fishing village of La Gauira where you can take a water taxi to the picturesque island of Isla Grande.
A bit further south east sits the gorgeous group of islands called San Blas. There are 375 islands in the San Blas archipelago, scattered around in an area of about 100 square miles. San Blas is controlled by the Kuna Indian tribe with minimal interference from the government. Referred to a ‘Tropical paradise’, it’s reachable with 4×4 vehicle from Panama City and there are also daily flights from Albrook airport.
Located on the northern Caribbean coast, close to Costa Rica border, is the magical destination of Bocas Del Toro. The archipelago has 9 islands and is considered one of the most biologically diverse places on earth. There is a wide variety of lodging and real estate options and plenty of available activities including surfing, scuba diving, zip lining, sailing, hiking etc.
